armasuisse receives Canadian Armed Forces for an exchange of expertise
On June 12 2025, the Federal Office for Defence Procurement armasuisse received the delegation of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) for a three-day exchange of information concerning the modernisation of artillery systems. Together with representatives of the Swiss Armed Forces, experiences were exchanged, international cooperation consolidated and defence cooperation strengthened.

The programme of the visit included practical demonstrations and interactive workshops as well as intensive technical discussions and a structured exchange of experiences between the specialists involved. The programme was rounded off by a company visit to General Dynamics European Land Systems-Mowag (GDELS) in Kreuzlingen and Tägerwilen (TG), where the 12 cm mortar 16 in ongoing series production and the work on the new artillery system according to the Armed Forces Dispatch 2025 could be viewed live.
In cooperation with the Swiss Armed Forces, armasuisse would like to enable a regular exchange on key topics in the field of artillery through an intensification of the international contacts in various working groups. This applies in particular for the evaluations and procurements of systems and ammunition as well as tests and interoperability.
