Accessibility in the Federal Administration

Information and services that are available digitally make it easier for people with disabilities to communicate with public sector bodies. This enables social involvement and political participation for all.

Overarching provisions

Accessibility provisions are set out in the following ordinances:

  • Article 9 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) explains the guarantee of equal access to information and services for the public.
  • Article 8 paragraph 2 of the Federal Constitution states that no person may be discriminated against because of a physical, mental or psychological disability.
  • The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requires measures to be taken to prevent, reduce or eliminate discrimination.
  • The Ordinance on the Elimination of Discrimination against People with Disabilities (EPDO) contains provisions on the requirements to accommodate people with disabilities when designing federal services.
  • Article 3 Principles Federal Act on the Use of Electronic Means for the Fulfillment of Official Tasks (EMBAG). Paragraph 4 They shall ensure that their services are accessible to the entire population.

Accessibility statement

The website armasuisse is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1, level AA. The exceptions are listed below.

Ausnahmen

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

  • Various PDF documents, especially documents that were originally printed and subsequently digitized.
  • Some videos do not have subtitles and/or an audio description.
  • Content embedded using iframes is often not accessible. This applies in particular to embedded online maps and dynamic  infographics.
  • Some images and graphics do not yet have sufficient alternative text.
  • There is no content available in easy-to-read language.
  • There is no content available with sign language.
