The Swiss Drone and Robotics Centre (SDRC)

The Swiss Drone and Robotics Centre of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (SDRC DDPS) supports the Swiss Armed Forces and other authorities in dealing with robotics in the security environment. It is the Swiss specialist authority for questions on drones and robot technology in terms of their significance for national security.

About us

Research & innovation

As part of the policy research of armasuisse S+T, the SDRC DDPS runs the research programme «Unmanned systems/robotics». Apart from its research focus, the SDRC is committed to Swiss robotic innovations as part of its security tasks.

ARCHE

ARCHE (Advanced Robotic Capabilities for Hazardous Environments) is used to assess the technology maturity level and the practical suitability of Swiss robotics for disaster relief.

ARDET

ARDET (Advanced Robotic Detachement) is an initiative of the SDRC for launching new robotics systems in the formations and deployments of the Swiss Armed Forces.

Infrastructure

As a part of armasuisse S+T, the SDRC DDPS possesses unique equipment and infrastructures for testing and assessing robotic systems.

The SDRC currently consists of an eight-member core team. The Centre accomplishes the task in support of the colleagues from armasuisse S+T as well as the network of Swiss robotic research and industry.
