CYD Campus Conference: Aviation Cyber Security

The more the world of aviation networks and embraces digitisation, the more its infrastructure becomes the target of malicious actions. At the “Aviation Cyber Security” conference to be held by the Cyber-Defence Campus on 19 and 20 November 2019 in Zurich, international speakers will discuss this problem from a wide range of perspectives.

In a real cyber-physical system (CPS), hardware and software components are closely intertwined. Due to the close networking, the risk of cyberattacks and their impact on the security of air traffic and society increases.
There has long been the assumption that the prevalent – and thus extremely successful – security culture would be able to combat new risks and challenges. Recent investigations carried out by hackers, scientists and aviation authorities, however, throw doubt on this assumption. With a view to the possibility of future cyberattacks, it is vital that aviation and defence institutions work together to highlight the existing security efforts. In doing so, the various stakeholder perspectives of science, industry, military and civil aviation authorities, airlines, airports, manufacturing companies and airspace and air traffic control should be taken into consideration.

The Cyber-Defence Campus invites all stakeholders to the «Aviation Cyber Security (AvCS)» opening conference:

Date: 19 and 20 November
Time: 8:30 until 16:30
Place: Hilton Zurich Airport, Hohenbühlstrasse 10, 8152 Opfikon, Schweiz

The international speakers and technology exhibitors in attendance at the AvCS conference hail from the worlds of industry, academia, military and politics. The topics that will be discussed range from aircraft and air traffic security management systems and regulatory struggles to the improvement of ongoing collaborations between all of the stakeholders involved.
