The term Command and Control + Reconnaissance refers to the procurement, assessment and processing of information for supporting the respective processes and the instantaneous exchange of data to create real-time situation reports for the decision makers.
The main focus in a command and control system is on the core processes command and control. The NATO definition of this is C2 (Command and Control). Other capacities to act which are taken into account in a command and control system are listed using abbreviations following the C2 designation. Examples of this are:
- C2I – Command, Control and Intelligence
- C4 – Command, Control, Communication and Computer
- C4I - Command, Control, Communication, Computer and Intelligence
- C4ISTAR – C4I + Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance
The cluster Command and Control + Reconnaissance is currently dealing with Land Forces systems such as the Integrated Artillery Command and Fire Control System INTAFF (C4I), the Artillery Fire Control Computer FARGO (C2) and the sensor intelligence control function compound with the Tactical Reconnaissance System TASYS (C4ISTAR).
The cluster Command and Control + Reconnaissance has long-standing experience with command and control and reconnaissance systems and is currently the appropriate contact partner for new solutions in the area of ground command and control and reconnaissance systems.
