ICS Hackathon from 11 to 14 September 2023

The Cyber Defence Campus of armasuisse Science and Technology is organising the industrial Control Systems (ICS) Hackathon in Thun from 11 to 14 September 2023. Over these few days, around 30 experts from the administration, industry and higher education institutions, as well as students, will come together to gain practical experience in a realistic ICS test environment in the fields of cyber attacks and defence methods.

The ICS Hackathon offers participants the opportunity to broaden their knowledge on cyber security in the field of industrial control systems and develop practical skills in dealing with real threats and defence strategies. Participation in this event promises to be an intensive engagement with the latest developments and trends in the field of cyber defence.

In addition to the traditional hackathon, appropriate courses – particularly for specialists from energy supply companies – will be offered this year as part of the “Cyber Training” project. The “Cyber Training” project has been launched as a reaction to the constantly changing requirements and the increasing complexity of cyber security at national level. The goal is to provide authorities, higher education institutions and critical infrastructures of national importance with a job-related CET course. The planned interdisciplinary and cross-hierarchical training formats are focused on the further development of generally valid mechanisms and decision-making processes to cope with cyber attacks.
