In the presence of politicians, the press, senior staff officers, industry and STIB representatives, the second branch of ELBIT Switzerland was put into operation. The new location of the Network Digitisation Center NDC serves the project Replacement Mobile Communication EmK for the integration and acceptance of systems as well as applications of the Armed Forces.

The NDC allows the testing of performance and continuity between real radio systems of the new SE-495 family and virtual systems and specialised applications for complementary scaling tests. For the adaptation and testing of systems with increased protection requirements, physical security was ensured by completely separate premises. The local separation allows representatives of the DDPS to install existing and new systems as well as to verify extended voice and data connections in real time. armasuisse provides with NDC an integration and validation environment for all future integration work for the voice and data services EmK.

The NDC is based on years of experience, of ELBIT Systems in the Digital Army Program, as the main integrator of the communication solutions of the Israeli Army. In Israel, ELBIT Systems operates a test laboratory for the benefit of the Israel Defense Forces IDF, in which they operate one or more functional modules of all systems in use and check software releases in regression tests for backward compatibility with all operational systems.

Since the new SE-495 radio family is a Software Defined Radio SDR, which provides the waveforms in software, the importance of comprehensive test and validation platforms as a quality gate before software updates on underlying operational systems is increasing. In future, SDR software releases will be automatically tested in a supplementary test and integration environment of the FUB TesIUm and released for distribution to the deployment systems.

The newly opened NDC allows all industry-related integration and testing work to be carried out and lays the foundation for successful periodic software acceptance and testing in TesIUm as well as use in the field.
