NBC Protection

Today's comprehensive, individual NBC protection concept is at a high, internationally recognized level.
In order to achieve the same state of technology in collective NBC protection as in individual NBC protection, major development projects are currently being undertaken. Theyse are based on today's comprehensive threat situation. The basic decision of the armed forces to provide, in the future, support in case of civilian disasters at home and abroad can thereby be achieved.

For example measuring equipment for the detection of chemical agents in the air,
based on the principle of the ion mobility spectrometer. Both skin and nerve poisons
can be detected.

Facility for in-depth radioactive decontamination (N), disinfection (B) and detoxication (C)
of material, vehicles, personnel and patient.

This is equipped for a qualitative detection of noxious substances in the contaminated
area and for the taking of samples. In this way the place of contamination can be determined. The area is marked and the position and analytic data transmitted to
a centre allow the containment of the contaminated area and the specification of
protection measures and relief actions.

Tent, resistant to chemical agents with filtered interior ventilation directly in the contaminated area, for persons without personal C-protection equipment.
As short-term shelter, if no civil protection shelter is available.

This is used where a quick, rough on-the-spot analysis is required after NBC-incidents.
Earth, surface,air and water samples can be examined in order to optimize protection measures and relief actions in the affected area.
