TTE Tiger partial replacement – updated tenders submitted

06.11.2009
On 6 November, the three manufacturer companies Dassault, EADS and Saab submitted their updated tenders for replacement of the Tiger aircraft TTE to the armasuisse within the deadline set. Extension of the original schedule necessitated an update of the tenders made. Apart from price increases, evaluations must also be able to take possible technical developments into account. For these reasons manufacturers were requested to update their bids.

On 21 October 2009, the Federal Council decided to adhere to the procurement project schedule set down in March for partial replacement of the Tiger aircraft (TTE). The security policy report is expected to be published in the spring of 2010. The procurement project will probably be applied for in conjunction with the 2011 armament programme. The evaluation report which will provide the basis for type selection is to be completed as planned in December.

Noise measurements

The noise emissions of the flight tests in 2008 have been evaluated. The DDPS will disclose information on these results within the context of a media conference in Bern. Regional information events in the communes where the jets will be based are also planned. A separate invitation for these events will follow later. They are planned for the beginning of December.
